Committed to rethinking

Progressus has a growing team of professionals led by our principals and colleagues. Formed as response to the impacts of COVID-19, the Progressus team is committed to rethinking how the built environment functions.

Whether repurposing vacant land or optimizing sites for logistics uses, Progressus has the innovative internal resources and background to bring projects to fruition.

Our principals are supported by a team with technical and financial resources, both internally and externally. Our team has collaborated for more than a decade, further illustrating Progressus' commitment to streamlined project implementation.

Emmanuel Shamoun

With over 25 years of professional experience, Mr. Shamoun focuses on the business aspect of architecture. He combines his passion for design with business knowledge to develop projects that are aesthetically pleasing while returning the highest possible ROI to investors.

Mr. Shamoun has led development groups for several international and national companies. His focus has been primarily on mixed use developments ranging from single family residences to multi-million dollar master-planned projects.

Mr. Shamoun volunteered as a commissioner for the Village of Skokie, Illinois and was a licensed General Contractor for the City of Chicago from 2004 to 2008. Internationally, Mr. Shamoun was the Principal Architect for a large real estate developer in Dubai where he resided from 2008 to 2015. Recently, he led several hospitality development projects for the Gettys Group and now continues his development role with The Parking Spot, which is the nation's largest near airport parking owner and operator. At Progressus, Mr. Shamoun will focus on project analysis and delivery and aim to grow the business organically with an emphasis on high returns to investors.

Mr. Shamoun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK.

Edwin Gausselin

With over 25 years of experience in real estate law, finance and development, and business operations, Mr. Gausselin has a unique and diverse skill-set. He has overseen numerous development projects through the acquisition, entitlement and financing processes, as well as construction and disposition.

Prior to joining the Argent Journey team, Mr. Gausselin was Vice President of Development for The Prime Group, Inc., a prominent development firm, which has developed over $10 billion of institutional quality real estate. Mr. Gausselin was responsible for the development of Prime’s retail, office, and hotel projects.

In 1991, Mr. Gausselin practiced law with the law firm of Weissberg and Associates, LLC where he focused on commercial litigation, the representation of the debtors and creditors in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases, and the representation of banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions in the areas of regulatory compliance and debt enforcement actions.

In 1996, Mr. Gausselin became Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for JVS Financial Group, Inc., a national mortgage banking and insurance company where he worked until 1998. That year, Mr. Gausselin founded, as principal and CEO, a group of legal, finance, and real estate-related companies. These companies included Gausselin & Associates, Ltd. (Law Firm), Trident Realty Corporation (Real Estate Brokerage), Mid-American Development, Inc. (Development Company) and the Universal Financial Group, Inc., a Chicago-based mortgage banking firm licensed in 38 states and with offices in Boston, Baltimore, Denver, San Diego, and Long Beach, CA, where he acted as CEO and President until selling the firm in 2003.

In 2007, Mr. Gausselin joined the Prime Group, Inc. where he acted as Vice President of Development. In 2011, Mr. Gausselin joined the Argent Group. As partner, Mr. Gausselin led the acquisition, entitlement, financing, and construction of numerous multi-family residential, senior living and student housing projects. These projects often utilized public-private partnerships, with both state and local governments providing significant financial support in the form of state tax credits, bonds, and tax increment financing.

Mr. Gausselin received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1988 and his J.D. from Loyola University Law School in 1991. Mr. Gausselin is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and maintains an Illinois Real Estate Broker’s License.
